Arnold Farber, CPA began his career with Lehman Brothers in their Investment Management group providing asset allocation solutions and investment advisory services to high net worth individuals and institutions.

Following the completion of the Lehman analyst program, Mr. Farber joined FTI’s Corporate Finance practice as a senior consultant where he provided restructuring advisory services to creditor committees of distressed companies. His clients have included both public and private companies in a variety of industries including: automotive, financial services, pharmaceutical, restaurants, and retail fitness. Mr. Farber’s responsibilities have included conducting reviews and assessments of: business plans, liquidity and financing needs, restructuring proposals, valuations, management incentive programs, and executive compensation plans along with other matters pertinent to the restructuring process.

Some of Mr. Farber’s representative creditor advisory matters have included the following engagements:

  • Assisted in a Chapter 11 debt restructuring totaling $1.2 billion for an international automotive company; negotiated a consensual Plan of Reorganization and materially improved recoveries for the General Unsecured Creditors via increased equity in the reorganized entity
  • Reviewed and monitored a leading restaurant chain’s 300+ locations and devised a strategic alternative strategy for its go-forward business plan; developed various restructuring scenarios on behalf of the creditors and assisted in negotiating a full recovery to members of the trade group
  • Assisted in structuring a 363 asset sale of a pharmaceutical company by having completed a robust valuation of the company’s domestic and international business units; introduced new strategic and financial buyers to the sale process, and implemented competitive bidding procedures to optimize the sale value
  • Evaluated an operational turnaround program for a newspaper publishing company, which entailed a review of the company’s strategic direction, publication/property analysis and, cost savings and revenue enhancement initiatives
  • Analyzed the merits and economics of various management incentive plans and other executive compensation arrangements for numerous Chapter 11 cases

Mr. Farber graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in Economics from the State University of New York at Albany. He previously held NASD series 7 and 66 licenses, is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the State of California and is a member of both the Turnaround Management Association and the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors.
