William (“Bill”) Cosden joined GlassRatner in 2018 as an Executive Consultant in their San Francisco office. Bill comes to GlassRatner with expertise on matters involving complex dispute negotiation, litigation management, cross-border negotiations, environmental issues and governance. His international experience includes China, India and Vietnam. He has worked in a multitude of industries including financial services, technology, telecommunications, and energy. 

Prior to GlassRatner, Bill served as General Counsel and Corporate Counsel for several companies. He was the General Counsel at EM Capital Management, LLC, Silver Oak Partners, LLC, and Active Technologies, Inc.; the Director of Legal Affairs at Beyond.com; and Corporate Counsel for the Pacific, Gas & Electric Co.(“PG&E”). Bill also served as a Sr. Deputy District Attorney with the Alameda County (CA) District Attorney’s Office.  His responsibilities as Sr. Deputy Attorney involved civil and criminal white-collar crime, environmental enforcement, and prosecution of unlawful business practices under B&P Code §17200.

Bill is a past President of the Association of Corporate Counsel’s (“ACC”) San Francisco Bay Area Chapter, and a past Chair of ACC’s National Environmental Law Committee.  He also co-founded the Stanford Ecommerce Best Practices Conference, which is now in its 15th year.  

Bill received his J.D. degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law, and a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley.
